Stroke Awareness Campaign [28th to 30th Oct, 2011]

Dept. of Occupational Therapy, Manipal strongly believes that need of the hour is the ability to market OT in right way.

Over the years it has demonstrated various strategies to be able to do so. One of the methods to facilitate marketing is to get associated with some important names in the Indian business world.

In an initiative to do so, Dept. of OT, Manipal collaborated with Big Bazzar, Udupi to mark the occasion of WORLD STROKE DAY [29th Oct., 2011] by arranging Stroke Awareness Campaign [28th to 30th Oct, 2011] at the premises of Big Bazaar. The team of OT faculty & students interacted and screened for the risk of stroke and the subsequent rehabilitative management, amongst the thousands of customers visiting the shopping mall. It gave tremendous opportunity to the students and staff to talk on stroke and OT amongst the common people and also served as OT promotion activity as well. Being associated with a brand name brought instant attention of the public and the media.

In this occasion Shovan Saha, HOD, Dept of OT, Manipal urge the younger generation of OT’s to initiate more and more of such activities, activities that are novel and impacting, and will give tremendous mental strength to overcome all kind of professional setbacks.
